Can 15 minutes of meditation a day really help? Read on to find out!
I had a Type A personality. Always on the go, always doing something, and I had a hard time sitting still. Even sitting through a movie was difficult for me, but I had to learn to slow down.
Meditation was suggested to me long before I was chronically ill. Other people could see that my go-go personality, and stressing over things, was not good for me, but I couldn't. I thought meditation was boring and I didn't think it could help.
It wasn't until I found out about mind-body syndrome that I decided to give meditation a try. However, I first needed to understand WHY meditation is helpful. I had no idea what it actually did in my body and also in my brain. What I learned is that meditation helps to bring your thoughts back to the present moment. The more you meditate on a regular basis, the easier it gets to stay present and conscious as you go throughout your day, but that is only one of the many benefits of meditation.
My preferred way is to meditate on scripture. Joshua 1:8 says to meditate on the Word day and night, and that it will make your way successful, and make you wise. To read about the many benefits and science of meditation, click the link below.
